For over 20 years, sewing has been my passion—something that started as a personal hobby and blossomed into a full-fledged business that’s close to my heart. The Heirloom Pattern Co. didn’t come about overnight; it has evolved from years of dedicated craftsmanship, creativity, and a deep desire to help others cherish their memories in a unique, meaningful way.

The Early Days: Bella & Bear Keepsakes

In January 2016, I launched my first business, Bella & Bear Keepsakes. Specialising in memory bears, I crafted bespoke keepsakes from cherished fabrics, turning sentimental clothing into something tangible—whether it was a baby’s first onesie or a loved one’s favourite jumper. Creating memory bears became a labour of love, one that connected me to countless families who trusted me with their most precious memories.

Over the years, I handcrafted countless keepsakes, each one as special as the last. My work has been recognised in the industry, and I’m proud to have won multiple awards for my craftsmanship. These accolades are a testament to the care and dedication I put into every project. These bears carried stories, nostalgia, and love sewn into every stitch. I never saw it as just a business; it was a privilege to create something meaningful that would be passed down through generations.

Expanding Horizons: From Bears to Patterns

As demand for my memory bears grew, I realised I couldn’t keep up with the personal orders while balancing my love for the creative side of sewing. That’s when the idea of creating patterns came to life.

In 2023, I introduced DIY kits to allow others to create their own memory bears. It was a way to share the joy of sewing and give people the opportunity to preserve their memories themselves. Shortly after, in early 2024, I designed my very first pattern—the Barnaby Bear pattern. What started as a design just for me soon became a source of inspiration, and I knew I wanted to share it with others.

This shift towards DIY kits and pattern design inspired a rebrand that truly reflects my passion: The Heirloom Pattern Co. No longer just about crafting individual bears, this new direction focuses on empowering others to create their own keepsakes. By offering carefully designed sewing patterns, kits, and virtual workshops, The Heirloom Pattern Co. helps people transform sentimental fabrics into heirlooms with their own hands.

My mission is simple: I want to equip hobbyists and beginners alike with the tools, guidance, and support they need to create memory bears and keepsakes that carry the weight of love, stories, and memories.
